Engine Block Heaters are used to heat the engine block and engine fluids of gas and diesel vehicles as an aid to starting in cold weather. The heater is operated using standard household AC power and the heat generated is distributed throughout the engine by the convective flow of the warmed coolant. Agricultural, Industrial & Heavy Duty Applications: Detroit Diesel Series 40 (466 C.I.D.) Engines manufactured prior to September 1993. Replaces third or fourth freeze plug on Left side of engine. Available Service Parts: O-ring and clamp device (3500004) International/Navistar 966, 1066, 1086 & 1466 (Alternate installation). Install in Left side. D312, D414, DT414, D436, DT436 & DTA466 (Engines manufactured prior to 1994). Replaces third or fourth freeze plug on Left side of engine.
