Engine Block Heaters are used to heat the engine block and engine fluids of gas and diesel vehicles as an aid to starting in cold weather. The heater is operated using standard household AC power and the heat generated is distributed throughout the engine by the convective flow of the warmed coolant. Agricultural, Industrial & Heavy Duty Applications: Caterpillar 3176 (10.2 Liter). Replaces 3/4" pipe plug on Right Rear Side of engine. Special high temperature cordset included in kit. Engine may also accept Oil Pan Heaters 8609683, 8609659, or 8609713 (requires 1" x 1/2" bushing to reduce port size). Cummins V903, VT903, VT350, Formula VT300 (903 C.I.D.) (Alternate installation). Replaces 3/4" pipe plug at bottom rear of oil cooler. Check engine to be sure 3/4" pipe plug is available on engine before proceeding.
